Purse Candy
Purse Candy is an indie pop project created by songwriter and performer Kirstin Corbett in collaboration with producer Ian Alexander Smith. Fronted by Kirstin and her all-female band, it’s a raw, feminine force that turns chaos into confession and confession into dance.
Why Purse Candy Performs:
Purse Candy makes indie alt-pop that feels like going through your shit — emotionally, mentally, literally. It’s about turning the broken parts of life into something worth dancing to. Each song is a snapshot of transformation: heartbreak, healing, and self-discovery wrapped in lush, rhythmic production that contrasts light and dark. At its core, Purse Candy is about reclaiming your story — owning every version of yourself, even the psycho, sexy, sad, soft and unhinged versions. Kirstin turns the contents of her inner world into melodies you can move to — proving that power and vulnerability can coexist. Purse Candy is the soundtrack for anyone learning to love their own mess, one song — one purse candy — at a time.
Who the music is for
Purse Candy makes music for the thrifters and the drifters. The audience is primarily young adults aged 18 to 35 who are drawn to the nostalgia of the 90s and 2000s — Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, The Cranberries, early Paramore — but also to the cinematic darkness of Lana Del Rey, Marina, and Aurora.
